Choose a Theme Template for Imported Products

If your theme has more than one product page template, pick which one new products should use during import rather than going into Shopify after the fact and changing every product by hand. The choice applies across the batch and can be overridden per product in the Review step.

Steps

1. At the Import Options step, find the Theme Template section.
2. Choose a template from the dropdown. Default template is the standard product page. Any alternate product templates in your published theme are listed below it.
3. The chosen template applies to every product in the import.
4. To use a different template for a single product, go to the Review Import step and change that product's Template column.
5. Continue to import. Each product is set to use the template you chose.

Tips

If the dropdown only shows Default template, your published theme has no alternate product templates. That is normal for many themes. To add one, duplicate the product template in your theme editor first, then re-run the import.
