Troubleshooting

Common Import Errors

"Category metafield could not be set"

The relevant Industry Pack has not been installed. Go to Settings > Industry Packs and install the pack for your product category.

"Category attribute skipped"

The post-import warning now lists every skipped attribute with its specific reason. Check that the relevant Industry Pack is installed and that the value exists in Shopify's taxonomy. Values not in the taxonomy are left blank and should be set via the Specification columns in the Review step. See Manual Specification Assignment.

Monthly Plan Limit Reached

Each plan includes a monthly products-processed limit. Importier counts a product the first time it is processed in a billing month, which includes when its AI description is generated. If you have hit the limit, you can upgrade your plan or wait for the next billing month. See Pricing Plans for limits per tier.

"Variant throttle" or 50,000 variant limit

Shopify limits stores to approximately 50,000 variants per day. Accept the Bulk Queue to import remaining products over following days.

"Duplicate SKU detected"

Products with SKUs already in your store were found. Choose "Skip duplicates" on the Confirm step.

"Image URL invalid"

The image URL is broken or returns a 404. Run the Pre-Import Scan to detect and fix these.

Descriptions Not Generating

Check that you have a saved preset selected, your plan has remaining imports, and the AI model is available on your tier.
