Where Your Product Data Came From (Source Attribution)
When Importier enriches your products using multiple independent manufacturer and product databases, the Review step shows you exactly what was found and where it came from. This transparency helps you make informed decisions before pushing products to Shopify.
Manufacturer Data Found indicator
On the Review step, enriched products display a "Manufacturer Data Found" label. This indicator includes:
- Database count - the number of independent databases that returned matching data for the product.
- Categories matched - the types of data that were found, such as weight, dimensions, materials, barcodes, or product category.
A higher database count generally indicates more reliable data, since the information has been confirmed across multiple independent sources.
Each image retrieved during enrichment is assigned a quality score from 0 to 100. The score reflects factors such as resolution, compression artefacts, and whether the image matches the product based on available metadata. Higher scores indicate images that are more likely to be accurate, high-resolution product photographs.
Confidence signals
The combination of database count and quality score acts as a confidence signal. Products with data from multiple databases and high image quality scores can generally be imported with minimal review. Products with low scores or data from only a single source deserve closer inspection.
Low quality scores are surfaced for review
Images with low quality scores are flagged in the Review step so you can spot them quickly. Rather than hiding poor results, Importier highlights them to ensure you do not import a blurry, watermarked, or mismatched image by accident.
Swapping images in the Review step
If the automatically selected image is not suitable, you can swap it directly in the Review step. Click on the image cell for any product to see alternative images that were found during enrichment. Select a different image, or remove the image entirely if none of the options meet your standards.
