Recommended Terms of Use for AI-Generated Product Content
Importier uses AI to generate product titles, descriptions, FAQs and specifications from your supplier files, marketplace URLs and PDF invoices. AI is right the overwhelming majority of the time, but it can occasionally produce content that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. To protect your store and set clear expectations with your customers, we recommend adding the clauses below to your store's terms of service, refund policy or product page footers.
This guidance is not legal advice. Have a qualified solicitor or attorney review any clauses before you publish them, and tailor them to the consumer law of the markets you sell into.
Recommended clauses
1. Order rejection and refund
We reserve the right to subsequently reject and refund your order at our absolute discretion where we detect irregularities, unavailability of product, an error in price, image or product description, error in your order, or fraud is suspected.
2. AI-assisted content disclosure
Some of the product titles, descriptions, specifications and FAQs on this store are generated or enriched with the assistance of artificial intelligence. While we review this content for accuracy, errors may occur. We do not warrant that all AI-generated content is free of mistakes, omissions or inaccuracies.
3. Pricing and availability
Prices, stock levels and specifications are subject to change without notice. Where a clear pricing or product information error is identified after an order has been placed, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.
4. Product specifications
Dimensions, weights, materials, ingredients, country of origin and other technical specifications are provided as a guide only. For purchases that depend on exact specifications, contact us before ordering to verify.
5. Image accuracy
Product images are representative and may not depict the exact item shipped. Colour reproduction can vary between screens.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the price paid for the relevant product. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights or remedies you have under the consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction.
How to add this to your Shopify store
- Open Settings → Policies in your Shopify admin.
- Paste the relevant clauses into your Refund policy and Terms of service.
- (Optional) Add a short "AI-assisted content" line to your product page template via the theme editor or a Custom Liquid section, so the disclosure appears next to every product description.
