Bulk Queue
What this article covers: When generating AI descriptions for a large import, you can pause at any time, change settings, and resume right where you left off. This article explains how Stop and Continue work during description generation and bulk queue operations.
Pause, Resume and Cancel
Control an in-progress bulk queue or description generation at any time.
Bulk Queue
- Pause — stops after the current batch. Click Resume to continue.
- Cancel — stops entirely. Completed batches remain in Shopify.
Pausing does not affect already-imported products. Cancelling cannot be undone.
During AI description generation
Click the Stop button on the Generate Descriptions step. The product currently being generated will finish, but no new products will start. The Stop button changes to Continue.
When you might want to pause
- You want to change a setting (style, model, or persona) before more descriptions generate.
- You spot an issue with the data and want to fix it first.
- You need to step away and do not want a large run to keep consuming credits.
Resuming generation
Click Continue and generation picks up at the next product after where you paused. Already-generated descriptions are preserved. Settings, style, model, and persona are all kept as they were.
Restarting from scratch
If you want to throw away progress and start over, go back to a previous step (Mapping or Settings) and re-run Generate Descriptions from the beginning. Existing descriptions will be regenerated.
