Data Enrichment
Importier scans a curated set of manufacturer databases, free product databases, and specialty databases for food, electronics, and books. When a matching barcode is found, missing fields are filled in automatically.
What gets enriched
Fields commonly enriched include: product title, description, brand, weight, dimensions, material, category, country of origin, HS code, and images. For specific categories, enrichment may also include electronics specifications, food ingredients, nutrition data, allergens, and book metadata (ISBN, author, publisher).
When enrichment runs
Enrichment runs during the Enrichment step in the import flow. It is triggered when you have a barcode (GTIN-8, UPC-12, EAN-13, or ISBN-13). Importier does not replace data you have typed in yourself.
Missing Data Summary
A dashboard shows how many products are missing each field. Use the radio button filter to switch views.
Weight Unit Handling
All enriched weights use your master weight unit. Changing the unit converts ALL weights (product and variant level) immediately.
Reverting Enrichment
Every change creates a snapshot. Revert individual products or click Revert All to undo everything.
Enrichment Context
Provide a hint for ambiguous products (e.g., "camera accessory" for "Lens Cap").
Why some products do not get enriched
Barcodes from very niche manufacturers may not be in any public database. Some categories (custom-made products, art prints, services) do not have standard product data. You will see "No additional data found" in the Review step for these products.
Cache and speed
Importier remembers enrichment results for 7 to 60 days depending on data type. Re-importing the same product is instant after the first lookup. The cache is per-product (barcode), not per-merchant.
